Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid transfer revelation as team-mates believe decision is made

CRISTIANO RONALDO told his Real Madrid team-mates he wanted to quit the club BEFORE the Champions League final and they think he’s played his last game for the club, according to explosive claims in Spain.

Ronaldo put his future in doubt after Real Madrid beat Liverpool in the Champions League final last weekend by hinting at a move.

But his team-mates are said to have thought the final would be his last game for the club anyway.

Spanish publication Marca claim Ronaldo told his team-mates he wanted out before the game in Kiev and, while they were disappointed with his decision to go public, the update did not surprise them.

Sergio Ramos is believed to have spoken to Ronaldo to tell him it was the wrong moment to speak about his future and then at the celebration events he was far more open to staying.

But his future has now taken a back seat following the resignation of Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane’s move, coupled with his huge release clause, has directors confident they can keep him beyond the summer.

Ronaldo has been linked with a return to Manchester United while PSG are probably the only other club in the world who could pay his wages – although they would need to sell.

Ronaldo, 33, has been at Real since 2009 and has won Four Champions Leagues in Spain.

His former manager Fabio Capello says he wants to return to Manchester United.

He told Sky Sport Italia: “I think that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to go back to Manchester, to play for United and being coached by his compatriot Mourinho.”

After the Champions League final Ronaldo said: “In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that have always been on my side.

“It was very nice to be at Real Madrid, in the coming days I will talk about it more.”

Spanish football expert Rik Sharma believes Real would sell Ronaldo, if someone could come up with the cash for him.

“If there is a team that wants to buy Cristiano Ronaldo, who can afford the transfer fee and who can afford the wages, I think Real Madrid would be absolutely willing to let him go and Ronaldo would be even happier to leave,” Sharma told the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast.

“He wants to double the money he’s on. Messi gets roughly 40 million euros a year from Barcelona. Ronaldo gets 20 million, and they have both won five Ballon d’Ors.

“He’s saying ‘I’m still the most important player in the team that has won the Champions League, I should be on that kind of salary’.

“But the problem is there’s so few teams who can buy Ronaldo.

“You almost have to go into a fantasy world to see him leaving Real Madrid, maybe a swap deal for Neymar. Weirder things have happened than that but it would be an insane deal to put together.”
